Aunt Maud's Beet Relish

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart cooked beets (chopped fine or ground)
  • 1 quart cabbage
  • 1 cup horseradish
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or 1 tsp additional black pepper
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbs salt
  • 1/2 cup vinegar or enough

Preparation:

Bring beets,cabbage, horseradish, and spices to hard boil. Seal in jars.
