Betty's Rolls
Ingredients:
- 1 cup milk
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3 3/4 cup flour
- milk
Preparation:
Scold 1 cup milk. Mix together warm water, yeast and 1 tsp sugar. In a 2 cup measuring cup add scolded milk, butter, 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar, salt, yeast mixture, and enough additional milk to make 2 cups.
Pour milk mixture in a large bowl and add flour to make stiff. Cover and let rise for an hour. Roll out to 1/2-inch and cuTbsp Place on greased cookie sheets or pans. Cover and let rise for 1/2 hour. Bake for 15 minutes at 400° F.
To make wheat rolls reduce flour to 2 cup and add 1 3/4 cups wheat flour.
