Beef Cabbage Stew
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 lbs Beef stew meat; cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 Beef bouillon cubes
- 1 cup Hot water
- 1 lg Onion; chopped
- 1/4 ts Pepper
- 1 Bay leaf
- 2 md Potatoes; peeled, cubed
- 2 Ribs celery; sliced
- 4 cup Shredded cabbage
- 1 Carrot; sliced
- 8 oz. Tomato sauce
- Salt to taste
Preparation:
Brown meat; drain. Dissolve bouillon in water; add to beef. Stir in onion, pepper and bay leaf. Simmer, covered, until tender, about 1 1/4 hours. Add potatoes, celery, cabbage and carrot. Simmer, covered, until vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce; cook, uncovered, 15 minutes. Remove bay leaf before serving.
